  • "We don't know why Rickie isn't a shadow of his last seasons self but we do know there is a lack of depth in the squad up front.

A non performing Rickie may have been worth an extra 2-3 games to see if he came good but best part of half a season!? Nigel chucks him on every game in the increasingly forelorn hope that he hits his form and because he doesn't have any other options. Last season we had Papa and Antonio as options this season Gully.

January tells us all. Can the powers that be see what we can all see? Do they have the commitment to do something about it? If so, do they have the acumen to do it wisely?"

Saints’ game at Hartlepool earlier this month was postponed in the same way. But at least it gives key striker Barnard extra chance to get fit in time for Saints’ Boxing Day trip to Charlton. Full story in today's Daily Echo
