  • "Like all posters, I was disappointed with the performance against Brentford and even more disappointed with a lot of the reaction on this site. To pick up on three points on this current thread. I agree with Puppy Saint, Jaidi, I thought was fouled throughout the game, not just for the second goal. When challenging Jaidi,
Alexander jumped into him, often leading with his arm.
NA has been playing Schneiderlin in a more forward position than under AP. He has not been very effective there. In the second half he went back to playing just in front of the back four. As a result he gave an outlet when they were under pressure and was able to set up attacks with good distribution. Saints had the majority of the possession in the second half and could and should have scored at least twice.
Regarding the sacking of AP and the others, we may never know the reason. However if an employee is saying to all and sundry, that his MD is impossible to work with, even an MD as generous as Seedhouse appears to be, may decide that that employee has to go."

LEE Barnard’s fitness should be among the silver linings after Saints suffered the disappointment of a second successive away League One game being postponed due to the big freeze.

A pitch inspection yesterday morning revealed the pitch at Walsall’s Banks’s Stadium was frozen and, with no realistic chance of it thawing, the game was given the axe early. It is now scheduled for March 1.

Saints’ game at Hartlepool earlier this month was postponed in the same way. But at least it gives key striker Barnard extra chance to get fit in time for Saints’ Boxing Day trip to Charlton. Full story in today's Daily Echo
