Sorry but I cant see how lee will hit the ground running? we need a forward who can hit the ground ruunning, I also feel we neede another midfielder or two to be able to control this area and be first to the ball not like we have been 3rd to it.

I've searched and can find no substance to any other rumours. most of above will be agents spouting to the media. They always say offers are on the table when all it may be is an enquiry.
Marc Jackson and Micky Fialka consortium to buy Pompey... not in the financial times yet though.

Quite sure that we have feelers out for loads of players as we need a back up plan if we don't get first choice..though that doesn't mean we need second raters. Not sure Juka's on that list, even though he wants to play for Saints. Others have rejected us before..do we really want those players. Sure Nicola wil bring in someone from left field.

He is currently on loan at Wycombe until the 14th Jan where he has got 6 goals in 6 games.

"A 6'2" powerful frontman" who has hit 25 goal in each of the last 2 seasons at academy level.

Torres not only failed to hit the ground running, when moving to Chelsea, but has since failed to hit a cow's arse with a banjo.
Likewise Andy Carroll at Liverpool.
As much as I would like to see a top flight player, signing for the Saints, we still have to work within a budget.
It would also need to be someone who wants to play, not just wind down his career.
Ideally we will find a senior pro who is being released from his contract on a free, allowing us to offer him a higher wage than we would be able to offer, if a fee were involved.

I know most clubs struggle for left backs but we have a glut, with Harding, Fox, Reeves and Shaw, plus Dickson will be back in a month. And I expect their combined weekly wage is about half what Bridge gets per week.

I've been saying for 10 days now that I don't think anyone else is coming in but have been labelled negative. It's negative not to splash out £20m to return £90m once promoted. Yes, I know, I know. Splashing the cash does not necessarily mean promotion but not splashing it is a bigger gamble in my opinion.
