Howe stokes fires ahead of St Mary's clash

EDDIE HOWE EDDIE HOWE

BURNLEY boss Eddie Howe has warned that his team’s impressive away form means they will arrive at St Mary’s without fear tomorrow.

The Clarets have won five of their last six league matches on the road and are coming up against a Saints side that haven’t tasted victory in any of their previous four games at home.

A poor run of form since the end of November from Nigel Adkins’ men has allowed Burnley, along with many others, to start reeling them in.

Having trailed Saints by 21 points at one stage in the season, Howe’s side are now just eight back of the Championship’s second-placed team.

“It’s another really tough away game,” said the Turf Moor boss.

“But we’ve had a good run of away results with a lot of them at tough grounds, so we’ve got nothing to fear at Southampton.”
