I think you'll find that those that can't make it to every match or live abroad do put money into the club, paying for Saints Player and also still purchase merchandise. No matter where someone comes from you can still be just as big a fan as someone who does watch every game and when you do get to see them you sing twice as loud. Also, with your narrow-minded view we'll have just 15,000 fans allowed, those season ticket holders, and we'll not be trying to expand the Saints brand abroad, such as Japan. This would lower our income greatly, reducing the amount of money available to spend on players. Didn't you want us to spend £20million this window?! I'm sure you also mentioned Lee wasn't a good enough signing as he was on a free, but all I've heard is good things about him, saying he gets stuck in and actually runs at goal with the ball. However, I congratulate you on being positive about Saints and hope that it continues.
Don't remember ever saying we should have spent £20 million but I did want investment. Lee has turned out to be a great signing and have stated that. Glad he got a good run out yesterday instead of 2 minutes at the end.
£20m was a general figure as to how much to gamble for a £90m promotion reward.
No one said we needed to or should go and spend that much, just frustrated at the time of lack of movement in transfer Market. When sharp signed remember a general contentment may be short of a defender (quality) Of players bought in.
I still believe if we are promoted there is going to have to be a movement of players in and out to stay in prem.
The key to any new Premiership club staying up year one is how they transition from the fringe players to that new level but with mindset of what is affordable."

Adkins delighted by quality of Saints' finishing

Nigel Adkins congratulates Tadanari Lee Nigel Adkins congratulates Tadanari Lee

NIGEL Adkins hailed his ruthless Saints side after they thumped Derby 4-0 to move back to the top of the table.

Jos Hooiveld got the ball rolling at St Mary’s with an early goal, before second-half strikes from Aaron Martin, Adam Lallana and Tadanari Lee completed the rout.

Adkins was thrilled with the quality of the performance, as well as the finishing.

“It was a good 4-0 victory and some good goals,” said the Saints boss. “The supporters got behind the players, everyone’s together as one.

“I think we’ve demonstrated we can score goals again today, resilient defensively. Derby had a little spell just before half-time and just after half-time, we weathered that okay, and we’ve scored some exceptionally good goals.

“Adam Lallana’s from open play, he’s broke the play up in our defensive third and we’ve had an interchange of passes and what a fantastic goal that was.

“Then you talk about Tadanari Lee’s goal – what a strike that was.”
