Care not whether we finish as Champions or Runners up ??

We were runners up last year.. Not this year Thanks

We are Southampton FC we play every game to win.... full bl00dy stop!!!

We are not groobelar compatible and don't throw games!! The very thought makes me puke. If I ever thought we threw games that would end it for me!

    NO WAY!
Good point.... However, I can't ever imagine Nigel or this team wanting to throw a game, they want to win every game, that is clear. I personally think it is a great question, but I also think that in reality Portsmouth will be down (or gone) by then. Portsmouth never really got us relegated, they delude themselves, we had 37 other games that consigned us to our relegation. However, the table has turned and I for one am very proud of our team, and we have done it the right way, with a budget and a proffessional manner. We have not cheated our way to the top, unlike Portsmouth in years gone by....

To go up as Champions would be an absolute dream."

Boss is keen for star names to rest up

Nigel Adkins

Nigel Adkins

First published in Saints News

NIGEL Adkins is relishing the opportunity for Saints to have a rest from midweek action.

The club have no fixture before next Saturday’s trip to Watford, meaning they have a rare full seven days to recover and prepare.

Not since early January have Saints avoided a midweek fixture in their schedule.

While Adkins has always expressed his confidence in the squad’s ability to cope with a heavy workload, he is also happy that he and the players can put their feet up in the evenings this week.

“We give ourselves an opportunity to recover from some knocks and injuries and get a good week’s training under our belt,” he said.

“We’ve got 14 games of the season left, everyone’s got to be ready to go out and give everything for the cause, and it’s not about 11 players it’s about the full squad.”
