NIGEL Adkins is relishing the opportunity for Saints to have a rest from midweek action.
The club have no fixture before next Saturday’s trip to Watford, meaning they have a rare full seven days to recover and prepare.
Not since early January have Saints avoided a midweek fixture in their schedule.
While Adkins has always expressed his confidence in the squad’s ability to cope with a heavy workload, he is also happy that he and the players can put their feet up in the evenings this week.
“We give ourselves an opportunity to recover from some knocks and injuries and get a good week’s training under our belt,” he said.
“We’ve got 14 games of the season left, everyone’s got to be ready to go out and give everything for the cause, and it’s not about 11 players it’s about the full squad.”
