  • "agree with most posts on big ricky and his record speaks for itself. in all the years that i'v watched the mighty saints "since the 60s".whenever we have had a successful period it's because we've had a top centre forward and this bloke is up there with the very best of them.last season he was great but this season in my opinion he has been immense.it's not just the goals he scores but his all round footballing ability he can do the lot, target man, drop off,go wide, cross and set up the others.reminds me very much of the legend that was ron davies, and for ricky to be compared to him just shows how good this man is.if he leads us to the prem then his name will echo through the saints history books with all the other past legends and we have had some of the very best.so he should be proud of himself for what he has acheived since he came here because he has improved no end,so lets hope the knock he got yesterday aint to bad and he stays fit to see this through
    RICKY LAMBERT SOUTHAMPTONS GOAL MACHINE

Rickie Lambert bagged his third hat-trick of the season to fire Saints back to the top of the Championship table.

The prolific striker scored twice in the space of ten first half minutes before rounding off a 3-0 win at Watford from the penalty spot.

With West Ham only drawing at home to Crystal Palace, the result saw Saints climb back to the league summit on a day when Birmingham also lost at home to relegation threatened Nottingham Forest.
