THE location chosen for a recent training exercise by the Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team proved to be spot on Sunday (June 30).
As they were practising their life-saving skills at Greenside Mines they received a very real call for assistance from a 35 year old Catterick man.
The man had fallen from his mountain bike and aggravated an old leg injury.
The team used their well-practiced skills to treat the biker on the fell and stretcher him to a track.
His companion transported him to hospital for further treatment.
