Sharp's double delight

BILLY SHARP BILLY SHARP

BILLY Sharp is hoping his double at Peterborough will be the goals that help fire Saints back into the Premier League.

The £1.8m January signing struck twice in the 3-1 win at London Road as Nigel Adkins’ team moved to within a victory of the top flight.

Sharp admitted his brace against Posh represented two of the most critical goals he has bagged.

“All my goals for Southampton have been important,” he said.

“Hopefully they’ll be important goals to help the squad and take us to the Premiership.”

Saints have tonight moved five points ahead of third-placed West Ham, after they drew 1-1 at Bristol City, meaning they can now wrap up automatic promotion with a win at Middlesbrough on Saturday.

According to Solent, the crowd was made up of 2/3 Posh and 1/3 Saints and in my reckoning that must have meant 3000 for us, not 600. Mind you, I did go to school!

Unrivelled (Definition: having no equal; matchless) support last night, well done to the 3500 travelling last night. Taking 3500 of the 9000 attendance is outstanding (midweek too).

I think they should bring back terracing anyway. There must be ways it can be made safe. You cannot beat jumping around like that without being told to sit... Cant wait for Saturday, I will see if I can come up with some other useless stats for the middlesborough game! Mind you the source of the Peterborough stat was from a mate that is meant to support Peterborough! I do actually fancy us to get a win on saturday, but borough will be fighting to keep their chances of play offs alive. A win for Bristol City on Saturday and OMG is there going to be one MASSIVE party in southampton!! I have already promised to drive round pompey with my car stickers and scarf if that happens on saturday night...So whitelines, look out for a white Merc doing the tour or Fratton! I just need to get some saints songs downloaded onto my ipod!!

Palace was on Easter Monday and there were more than a few red & whites in the home section. Saints away support has been the 12th man this without doubt.

Facts that Whitelines simply doesn't recognise. He makes Comical Ali look intelligent. "There are no American tanks in Baghdad. Pompey will stay up and Saints will be in the playoffs. Your away support is rubbish. Lambert is fat and useless. Our support is immense and we always pack the park." I've got 2 words for him. Bristol City.

i dont understand where whitelines gets off on insulting Saints, is he that inbread or stupid, that he cant realise Pompey are a smaller club in all sence. Smaller crowds, infrastructure, support and stadium. He seems delusional, insulting our players when there team are on the verge of going down, hmmm, maybe we should just ignore him, as he is just a pathetic little runt, i am sure he thinks he is big hard and clever, but lets be honest why should we give the time of day to someone that still spends half his day attached to his mothers nipple or being anually raped by a sailer

the problem with terrace is if you use a a forged ticket it will get you in .but with seats it cant be done as a seat is allocated for a ticket ,that is what happened at hillsborough.so on a big stage it will never happen ,terrace days in premier top flight ,will never be again .all new stadiums built all have to be all seated ,as wembley is .northam will be forced to sit next season
