    Happy and Unhappy!

As a STH I am happy with the price of a renewal at £575, I judged this to be about right and as such have the money to pay up front.
What I disagree with mostly is that I have been a STH for over 15years and my anger is over the last few years more than anything. I consider myself to have been incredibly loyal at a time when everyone else was shying away (plastic fans!). My point is that now we are Premier League and among the big boys, my loyalty has saved me all of £25 compared to a NEW STH.
I am disgusted at this and would complain if I thought it would get me anywhere. I feel badly treated by the Club at a time that I’ve witnessed heartbreak up to jubilation in our rise to the big time once more.

I am extremely happy with price, just not the saving I’m making.

Wouldn’t it have been nice for EVERY STH that was around while we were in League 1 up to now, to be told that we could have an extra 10% off or even a FREE Home Shirt for standing by the Club…. No such luck.
Can understand your mixed feelings on this. There are a number of people who could probably 'justify' some kind of freebe, especially season ticket holders of recent years and the regular travelling faithful. It won't happen and it's probably a correct commercial decision.

In the end, we will all vote with our feet (and a little with our hearts).

It doesn't affect me because of where I live, what I earn, what else I have to prioritise and what I'd be prepared to pay.

In the end, along with most people on here, and accepting that seating and purchasing policies have altered and will affect some more than others, it seems about right.

If anyone is to 'blame' (big word that) for the 'high' price of a football ticket, it's probably those who take most money out of the game - the top-earning players, agents etc.

Probably the best way to justify it is to think like this:
Ballpark figure? £600 or so? That's, what? 200 pints?

In other words, one week's supply of beer for Slugger, Bill Seedhouse and RedArmy combined!

    Bargain!
    200 pints between 4 blokes for a week ?
    7 pints a day?
or 2 or 3 weekday and a semi-serious drink at the weekend?
    Season ticket is a bargain ! ! ! ! !
    I'm getting one !
200 pints for 4 blokes for an away game? that seems a little more likely !"

Southampton FC unveil 2012/13 season ticket prices for Premier League

Saints unveil season ticket prices for Premier League Saints unveil season ticket prices for Premier League

SAINTS have today revealed how much fans will have to pay to watch their team in the Premier League.

Adult supporters renewing their tickets will pay between £695 and £495, depending on where they sit. Anyone interested in buying a new season ticket will have to pay between £780 and £555.

Compared to last season's ticket prices, the cheapest adult tickets have gone up by 30 per cent and the most expensive by 31 per cent.

This is despite the club playing 17 per cent fewer games at home when compared to the Football League (19 as opposed to 23), meaning the price-per-game has gone up by an even larger amount percentage-wise.

The biggest increase is faced by adult supporters sitting in of Chapel as only part of the stand is now classified as the family section - they are looking at a 51 per cent price increase from £380 to £575.

Fans who wish to purchase their season ticket via the club's instalment plan will have to pay a £50 administration fee.

Fans wishing to renew must do so between June 6 and June 30. Any later, and they will be forced to pay the prices laid down for new customers.

Anyone wishing to purchase a new season ticket can do so from July 2 until July 31.

Saints have yet to reveal how much tickets will be for individual matches, but has said there will be five gold games, seven silver and seven bronze.

The club has also changed how it charges booking fees. From now on, each ticket bought either online or in person at the ticket office will incur a fee of £1.50 and those bought via the telephone will have a fee of £2.50 levied on them.

The only way to avoid the charge is to pay by cash at the ticket office.

Previously, fans had been charged £3 per transaction, rather than per ticket.

Saints are believed to have had around 14,000 season ticket holders last season.

In a poll running on the Daily Echo website, 33 per cent of Saints supporters thought a fair price would be between £400 and £499, with 27 per cent settling for between £300 and £399 and 25 per cent for between £500 and £599.

Just 15 per cent were prepared to pay over £600.
