Maybe it is because the loyal ST's that stuck in there through thick and thin thought they deserved a little reward for their loyalty, this doesn't work in a business that needs funds to sustain its future, charity butters no parsnips.
I am a bit ashamed that you two post this. Whilst it is true that we are back in the Prem and have to pay for the privilege, those who have stuck by Saints through the poorer times ought to be rewarded. I really dislike the old Johnny-come-lately stuff even if they are welcome. They are also welcome if it all goes a bit pear-shaped. But you won't see them for dust.
The johny-come-latelys (which I am not btw) will still be paying more than you...and will be funding the future of our club..this is how a prem club is funded...like it or loathe it..that is how it is. If you think you deserve somekind of payback...then you are deluded...I trust you enjoyed the JPT day...Coventry game...Poopey game...Wham game...that was because the ST's got what they paid for...easy tickets for big games...pay back...to expect somekind of super-special treatment now is a little delusional now imo."

Southampton FC unveil 2012/13 season ticket prices for Premier League

Saints unveil season ticket prices for Premier League Saints unveil season ticket prices for Premier League

SAINTS have today revealed how much fans will have to pay to watch their team in the Premier League.

Adult supporters renewing their tickets will pay between £695 and £495, depending on where they sit. Anyone interested in buying a new season ticket will have to pay between £780 and £555.

Compared to last season's ticket prices, the cheapest adult tickets have gone up by 30 per cent and the most expensive by 31 per cent.

This is despite the club playing 17 per cent fewer games at home when compared to the Football League (19 as opposed to 23), meaning the price-per-game has gone up by an even larger amount percentage-wise.

The biggest increase is faced by adult supporters sitting in of Chapel as only part of the stand is now classified as the family section - they are looking at a 51 per cent price increase from £380 to £575.

Fans who wish to purchase their season ticket via the club's instalment plan will have to pay a £50 administration fee.

Fans wishing to renew must do so between June 6 and June 30. Any later, and they will be forced to pay the prices laid down for new customers.

Anyone wishing to purchase a new season ticket can do so from July 2 until July 31.

Saints have yet to reveal how much tickets will be for individual matches, but has said there will be five gold games, seven silver and seven bronze.

The club has also changed how it charges booking fees. From now on, each ticket bought either online or in person at the ticket office will incur a fee of £1.50 and those bought via the telephone will have a fee of £2.50 levied on them.

The only way to avoid the charge is to pay by cash at the ticket office.

Previously, fans had been charged £3 per transaction, rather than per ticket.

Saints are believed to have had around 14,000 season ticket holders last season.

In a poll running on the Daily Echo website, 33 per cent of Saints supporters thought a fair price would be between £400 and £499, with 27 per cent settling for between £300 and £399 and 25 per cent for between £500 and £599.

Just 15 per cent were prepared to pay over £600.
