Looks like an exciting move, where does this leave Billy? Who else would we prefer as an alternative to Rodriguez? Here comes the fun!!!
In the Prem clubs need 5 strikers who can be rotated on a regular basis. Anything less than that will not take care of injuries, suspensions or loss of form. Especially if you are not a top ten team, which I don't think we will be."

Saints have reportedly offered in excess of £6m for Burnley striker Jay Rodriguez.

Nigel Adkins failed in his pursuit to sign the highly-rated forward during last summer's transfer window, but it appears the club have now gone back in for the 22-year-old as they look to strengthen the squad for their Premier League return.

The Clarets are ideally hoping to receive £8m for the player, who has one year left to run on his contract, but were said to be mulling over the offer from Saints, according to reports from Lancashire.

However, this afternoon Burnley's head of media, Darren Bentley, claimed the club had received no bids for the young striker, who is also said to be attracting the attention of Sam Allardyce at West Ham.
