UEFA honour for ex-Saint
9:41am Friday 25th May 2012 in Saints News
PETER SHILTON
FORMER Saints star Peter Shilton will be presented with a special cap by UEFA ahead of England's friendly with Belgium on June 2.
European football's governing body want to honour every player across the continent who has reached the milestone of playing more than 100 times for their country and the Wembley encounter - Roy Hodgson's first game in charge - has been chosen as the designated game for England.
David Beckham and Bobby Charlton will also receive a special cap.
In addition, the widows of both Bobby Moore and Billy Wright will be present to accept the honour on behalf of their late husbands.

The man may well be flawed but what man isn't, you cannot criticise his achievements though, much more than Mr. Grimsdale could ever dream of I suspect.
Just to reiterate what Costa Baz wrote "get some respect" or don't bother writing dribble.

I see that Mr. Grimsdale comments have been taken off and so they should be "he who is without sin cast the first stone" comes to mind.

I've got plenty of respect but I get to decide who to give it to, not Baz.

I do think they could have found a better picture of Shilts though. Perhaps one of him in action, punching a cross up to the half way line ... no one did it better.

R Davies still remains the best forward I have seen. He used to strike terror into defences. Still the last player to score 4 at Old Trafford in one match by an away player.when MU had just won the league and were going to go on to become the first English team to win the Champions cup. Against what I still believe to be the best United side.

Changing topic.. I see the Daily Echo put AOC on the back page of the Echo today extolling his virtues and talent.
Let's get this absolutely straight
1) AOC played some games in League One for SAINTS - and often came off with muscle cramps.
2) He chose not to stay with THE MIGHTY SOUTHAMPTON to fight in the Championship for Premier League Football.
3) The Daily Echo shot it's own city - SOUTHAMPTON - in the foot by not letting it drop and covering the back pages until AOC was on his way.
4) Greed and Ambition paved the way for the move - AOC's Dad was instrumental in Alex leaving Southampton.
We don't do Racism or Violence on this site ...
But let's have some more hard-hitting facts :
a) When AOC comes to St Mary's in the League - he is gonna get some sh*t - and every ball he trips over or runs out of play - Saints Fans will cheer.
b) AOC's Dad is a money hunting disgrace that rather see his son play his football on the Bench or on the Training Ground then play football for the Number One Club in the South.
He should keep a low profile or not be seen at St Mary's again for his own safety.
Alex could have played for England and been with Premiership Southampton.
For his greed he will get what he deserves - getting splinters on the bench.
BACK TO THE SUPER SAINTS.
WE AIM FOR A TOP SIX FINISH IN THE PREMIERSHIP.
NIGEL ADD SOME MORE QUALITY TO THE SQUAD.
WE ARE RED AND WHITE.
