SAINTS have confirmed their pre-season schedule, with a home friendly against Ajax highlighting the announcement.

Nigel Adkins' side will warm up for the Premier League campaign by taking on the Dutch giants at St Mary's on Saturday, July 28 (3pm).

They will host Championship outfit Wolves on Saturday, August 4 (3pm), before visiting another second tier outfit, Bristol City, on Tuesday, August 7 (7.45pm).

Italian side Udinese will then come to Southampton, on Saturday, August 11 (midday), for a glamorous-looking friendly. Udinese finished third in Serie A last season, which was enough to qualify them for the Champions League.

Saints will also play two friendlies in France during a seven-day overseas training camp.

They will play on either Wednesday, July 18, or Thursday July 19, against yet-to-be-confirmed opposition.

Saints will then face Ligue 1 team Évian Thonon Gaillard, at the Stade Joseph-Moynat, on Saturday, July 21 (7pm local).

Saints will be based in Évian-les-Bains, on the shore of Lake Geneva, close to the French-Swiss border, for their training camp.

The club had previously confirmed the Markus Liebherr Memorial Tournament will take place on Saturday, July 14, featuring Arsenal and Rangers.

Saints' 2012 pre-season schedule:
Saturday, July 14: Markus Liebherr Memorial Tournament (St Mary's).
Wednesday, July 18/Thursday, July 19: Unconfirmed opposition.
Saturday, July 21: Évian Thonon Gaillard (Stade Joseph-Moynat).
Saturday, July 28: Ajax (St Mary's).
Saturday, August 4: Wolves (St Mary's).
Tuesday, August 7: Bristol City (Ashton Gate).
Saturday, August 11: Udinese (St Mary's).
