I have never heard of his "advisor" Akinbiyi (why not use the word "Agent") and I really don't give a fig for his opinion. I could probably get a more informed unbiased opinion from my cat. Shrewd beast my cat !!

I have only seen JR a couple of times, the rest was on telly. I can't really judge objectively but if NA and NC rate him thats good enough for me as it's their heads on the block not mine.

There is so much unconfirmed speculation about this deal which may all be a load of smoke and mirrors.

Fact - The fee is not known. Te club has not confirmed this. My cat is probably worth a lot more than £7 million but I can't confirm that.

Fact - Nobody knows which other clubs were after him. All comment so far is guesswork. No other club has approached me about my cat.

Fact - JR hasn't played in the premiership. Neither has my cat.

Fact - NA was keen to get him last year but failed probably because he thought he might go up with Burnley and thought we had no chance. Now he has joined us because we have been promoted. Shrewd move JR !
I think my cat would approve of that - like all cats he would go to the first person who fed him the most food.

Fact - I don't like Agents, Advisors, People who get paid in cash in brown paper packets or people who have dogs with bank accounts. My cat doesn't have a bank account.

Fact - JR must perform at the highest level now against the top players. If he succeeeds I will be delighted, if he gets an England place I will also be pleased. I doubt that my cat will get a call up though as he is getting too old.. but when he was at his peak he was clocking up two birds and four mice a week. What do you think of THAT Akinbiyi ?

Why hasn't anyone interviewed my cat?
    I love this....

Akinbiyi was (and I use the term very loosly) a striker, he played for Leicester (although Leicester fans may dispute that)!

He was a big money signing for Leicester when Peter Taylor was in charge, I think it is fair to say that it never really worked out!!

But, he is propbably well placed to give good advice to Roriguez as he knows how difficult playing at the top flight after a big money move can be.

Anyway, I look forward to seeing your cat next year. I am sure Harry Redknapp will be looking to sign him for his new club, now Totenham have found him out to be a pretend manager who learned his trade through Football Manager on the ZX Spectrum 48k..."

Rodriguez tipped for England future

Jay Rodriguez Jay Rodriguez

SAINTS’ new signing Jay Rodriguez has the ability to become a fully-fledged England international, according to the striker’s mentor.

Ade Akinbiyi played with the 22-year-old hotshot at Burnley and now acts as an advisor for him.

He believes £7m Rodriguez, who has already been capped at under-21 level for his country, will eventually become a senior international.

“One hundred per cent,” declared Akinbiyi. “I’ve got every confidence he’s going to go to the top."
