Bialkowski joins Notts County
4:04pm Friday 15th June 2012 in Saints News
Bartosz Bialkowski
Bartosz Bialkowski has signed a three-year contract with Notts County, following his release from Saints.
The League One side have said that the 24-year-old will be their first-choice keeper for the coming season.
Bialkowski told the Magpies' website: "I'm really excited to be here, to join such a big club as Notts County and hopefully next year we will win promotion.
"I came here because I want to play football and I will do my best to prove that I can be a top keeper. I have not given up on the national team, I still want to play for Poland."
Notts County goalkeeping coach Kevin Pilkington added: "We heard that Bartosz was getting released shortly after the season finished and he was one that we had looked at and one that we think fits the bill.
"He's athletic, tall, kicks the ball well, so hopefully he will go on to do great things for Notts County."
Bialkowski made 42 appearances for Saints between 2006 and 2012. He was let go this summer, after his latest contract at St Mary's expired.

This will be a good move for Bart. He needs to have a run in first team football. He will now have time to get his confidence lifted, and hopefully realising his true potential. He has had the best possible training, as understudy of Kelvin Davis.

If an attacker does it, it's forgotten, done and dusted as soon as they get back to form.
If a keeper does it, they become a "dodgy keeper" forever.
If an attacker misses a truly open goal, it's repeated twice then forgotten.
If a keeper messes up and concedes a goal it's repeated endlessly and never forgotten (despite being worth exactly the same as a missed goal).
I hope Bart does well and gets his confidence back. NA said he was always excellent in training - I hope he can get the experience to react the same way during games.

He will play regularly for Notts County and he will progress, he is a good goalie who had the misfortune to have one bad game on telly in a big game.
Best of luck !
Lets wait and see who we get to replace him, or to replace Kelvin or at least give him good reason to keep improving to stay ahead in the pecking order. Keep mentioning the Gillingham goalie, he is good and Saints should get him in now.
"Paulo Gazzaniga became Andy Hessenthaler's ninth summer signing of 2011 when the highly rated Argentine keeper put pen to paper on a two year contract with the Gills, having been recommended to the club by Hess's former Watford team mate Gary Penrice
The 19 year-old, 6 ft 5 inch shot-stopper had been on trial at Priestfield since being released by Spanish giants Valencia at the end of last season impressed during pre-season but had to wait until the visit of Barnet in the Johnstone Paints Trophy in October before making his debut"
Worth a punt, will not cost a fortune and Saints have had him watched, along with several other Premiership clubs
