Bialkowski joins Notts County

Bartosz Bialkowski has signed a three-year contract with Notts County, following his release from Saints.

The League One side have said that the 24-year-old will be their first-choice keeper for the coming season.

Bialkowski told the Magpies' website: "I'm really excited to be here, to join such a big club as Notts County and hopefully next year we will win promotion.

"I came here because I want to play football and I will do my best to prove that I can be a top keeper. I have not given up on the national team, I still want to play for Poland."

Notts County goalkeeping coach Kevin Pilkington added: "We heard that Bartosz was getting released shortly after the season finished and he was one that we had looked at and one that we think fits the bill.

"He's athletic, tall, kicks the ball well, so hopefully he will go on to do great things for Notts County."

Bialkowski made 42 appearances for Saints between 2006 and 2012. He was let go this summer, after his latest contract at St Mary's expired.

This will be a good move for Bart.
He needs to have a run in first team football.
He will now have time to get his confidence lifted, and hopefully realising his true potential.
He has had the best possible training, as understudy of Kelvin Davis.

Totally agree, I still have a strange feeling we should have kept him and loaned him out. Time will tell

Great news, this is just what he needed! Though we would have loaned him out to a League 1 or 2 club for a year to gain confidence and experience.

Although if he gets good we'll just buy him back !

Good luck Bart. All the best for a successful stay with Notts County. Maybe we'll buy you back one day for a lot of money!

It will be a time for him to get his confidence back and hopefully progress from there.

I always feel for goalkeepers who hit a bad spell.

If an attacker does it, it's forgotten, done and dusted as soon as they get back to form.

If a keeper does it, they become a "dodgy keeper" forever.

If an attacker misses a truly open goal, it's repeated twice then forgotten.

If a keeper messes up and concedes a goal it's repeated endlessly and never forgotten (despite being worth exactly the same as a missed goal).

I hope Bart does well and gets his confidence back. NA said he was always excellent in training - I hope he can get the experience to react the same way during games.

Great news for Bart. He really needed to do this on loan a couple of years back but hey ho. Nice lad as well. Maybe we'll get them in the 3rd round of the FA Cup next year, be good to welcome him back.

This is probably a great piece of business for Notts county. He always seemed to play for saints at the worst possible times.

Glad he's found another team, shame it never worked out with us. Hope he plays more than Paul Smith does on the other side of the Trent at Forest.

Sorry to see you go, pal, but it's the best thing for you. You should get plenty of first team football at Notts. Wishing you well for the future

Good luck to Bart, I think its a shame things didn't really work out for him at Saints. I remember when he came to us he looked like a great prospect, I think he needs regular games and the confidence will do him wonders.

May have been a different story if he hadn't had a nightmare at the home game with Blackpool last season, good luck Bart I think you're a great keeper!

Good luck to him. Stayed with us through the bad times and rarely got a look in. I hope he does well for County.

Showed great loyalty to Saints, and I think Saints have done him a favour.
He will play regularly for Notts County and he will progress, he is a good goalie who had the misfortune to have one bad game on telly in a big game.
Best of luck !
Lets wait and see who we get to replace him, or to replace Kelvin or at least give him good reason to keep improving to stay ahead in the pecking order. Keep mentioning the Gillingham goalie, he is good and Saints should get him in now.
"Paulo Gazzaniga became Andy Hessenthaler's ninth summer signing of 2011 when the highly rated Argentine keeper put pen to paper on a two year contract with the Gills, having been recommended to the club by Hess's former Watford team mate Gary Penrice
The 19 year-old, 6 ft 5 inch shot-stopper had been on trial at Priestfield since being released by Spanish giants Valencia at the end of last season impressed during pre-season but had to wait until the visit of Barnet in the Johnstone Paints Trophy in October before making his debut"
Worth a punt, will not cost a fortune and Saints have had him watched, along with several other Premiership clubs
