LOCAL lad Sam McQueen was Saints’ two-goal hero as Martin Hunter’s under-21s got pre-season off to a pleasing start with a 2-1 win at Sholing last night.

Saints sprang a surprise by naming three first-team players – Lee Barnard, Ryan Dickson and Jonathan Forte – in their starting line-up, while American under-20 keeper Cody Cropper trialed in goal.
