Nathaniel Clyne has been named in the England under-21 squad to play vital games against Azerbaijan and Norway.
Stuart Pearce's side need two wins from the two matches to secure a play-off berth for the 2013 European under-21 championships.
The games take place against Azerbaijan on Thursday, September 6, and Norway on Monday, September 10.
