Fox in latest Scotland squad

Danny Fox Danny Fox

Saints defender Danny Fox has been included in the Scotland squad for the World Cup qualifiers against Wales and Belgium.

Craig Levein's side will face Wales, in Cardiff, on Friday, October 12, before travelling to Brussels to take on Belgium, on Tuesday, October 16.

He may be finding it a bit tough in the hardest league in the world, but that doesn't mean he isn't easily good enough for Scotland v Wales!

Luxury? That's so typical of of the antediluvian attitude to football still so prevalent in this country which continues to hold the national game back.

Would you call Messi a luxury player? No, you wouldn't. So given that Adam can play on both the left AND the right and that he makes Messi look sh1te, how can you possibly call Adam one?

The antediluvian period was bang in the middle of the skunt age. It means, literally, 'before the flood' ie before the time when god overreacted just a teeny bit to something or other by flooding the planet and killing every single person on it other than Noah and his wife.

Anyway, it was back then that Portsmouth were winning their League titles and, amazingly, they're still banging on about them.

Away from the homo-erotic obsession that some posters seem to have with each other and Portsmouth, it's actually a compliment to Saints that a player currently unable to hold down a starting position is still deemed good enough for their International squad - happens at Utd, City, Spurs etc all the time!

Interesting that in all the discussion about Saturday's game nobody mentioned our goalkeeper. In yesterday's Liverpool Daily Post, he is the player who came in for most stick in their match report e.g.
"...the performance of goalkeeper Paulo Gazzaniga underlined why the South Coast side have taken on former Everton target Artur Boruc."
"...the hapless Gazzaniga giving the striker (Jelavic) most of the goal to fire into."
"...Gazzaniga bizzarely behind his line when attempting to save" for the third goal.

Actually I bet it was their bloody fault.

I imagine the God of he Old Testamant was a lot more 'route one' than the FA when it came to punishing financial irregularities and instead of a suspended 10 point fine they managed to get the entire fcuking world flooded and everyone died.

This is a fair point, actually. I couldn't really see very well from where I was sat but when I watched the goals (particularly the third one) on the replays my initial response was that the keeper could have done better. Still, he's young and we have three others so I'm sure we'll sort it.

I didn't think he was that bad to be fair. Yes the one he appeared to 'save' but then didn't did appear to be bad positioning.

The thing is we seem to mount attacks on our players one at a time and keep the pressure going until they are replaced. We've did it to Gully, then Kelvin, then Fox and now it seems that Fonte is next in line.

I remember last season so many saying we needed to do a Norwich and slowly add to the squad without major disruption. Well now everyone seems to be screaming for wholesale changes.

I've been following the Saints since the 70's and I'm delighted we are finally moving forward again. We are adding quality like Clyne and Ramirez and there are aspects of our play that are superb - but we are leaking like a sieve. If we have to bounce between the Championship and Prem a couple of times before we get it right, well so be it, I'm not panicking.

Must agree with the comment about Wayne Bridge - I thought at the time we were supposedly looking to strengthen our defence that no mention of him was made. Would have been ideal and now Brighton have him. Also, we all realised that playing in the Premiership would be a world apart from the Championship. So why did we buy a goalkeper Gazza from Gillingham and expect him to do the business instantly in the Premiership? We then sign an interntional goalkeeper but dont play him?

Retford, you say that Noah only took his wife with him. Didn't he take his kids with him, too? Anyway, definitely no fish.

Anyway, the more important point is about Adam being a luxury. We all know he plays on the left and he plays on the right ........ Well, I think Nigel should stop trying to get him playing in two places at once; it's killing him. And it's not much help to either full-back.

So, please can the fans change the chant to, 'He plays on the left, OR he plays on the right .......'? Then, maybe, he really will start to make Messi look like Ali Dia.

Anyway, good luck Fox, I'm sure you'll make Craig Bellamy look like Ali Dia.

I think its the fact that NA paid almost 2MILL for him. I never rated BANALI but at least he never played PITTY PATTY in the penalty area.
Franny was never banal, he never scored many goals either. Always gave 100%, I suspect some of our current players are giving a lot less.

Wrong Stras - he did take fish. In fact he filled four decks with carp. It was the world's very first multi-storey carp ark.

These internationals breaks are about as welcome as a brown lump in the swimming pool.

All 4 home international teams play total rubbish these days and our players often come back unfit for selection so whats the point?

Any onwards and upwards after a tough opening 6 fixtures we expect some happier days and wins at home are absolutely crucial.

I guess, Angus, whereas Noah carefully chose a suitable pair of all the other animals, when it came to skates, he just threw on a brother and a sister.

As for Confucious's tale about high carparks, if you ask me, it's just a tall storEy!

We always struggled at Huish Park. I guess you guys must be better suited to kicking lumps out of opponents on a pitch made of solid sh1t. Well done you.

Seriously though, I think you'll end the season in about 16th but owned by Chainrai. Would you be happy with that? Even the United fans came round to the Glazers, so I reckon that despite all the current b1tching you lot will be wondering what all the fuss was about.
