Saints’ club record signing Gaston Ramirez misses today’s game against Fulham after sustaining a thigh injury in training.

The Uruguayan Football Association confirmed the problem in a statement ahead of their World Cup qualifiers against Argentina and Bolivia this coming week.

While £12m man Ramirez is set to miss those games, Saints will be hoping he returns to fitness ahead of the trip to West Ham, on Saturday, October 20.
