Saints need every bit of help they can get i have always admired Southampton its so sad to see the position they are in and wish all the supporters a better future they are reaping a negative return for a policy of selling quality players to satisfy greedy shareholders the loyal fans deserve better Come on Saints fight for the right to stay up

This kind of story appeared before our last two games against Hull and Coventry. Against all the odds, all their "injuries" recovered in time to play against us. Sadly, it seems that we're the only club that is being honest when we say we'll be missing players for the next game.

We should concentrate on our own problems, not Cardiff's. We still have a horrible list of injuries to key players so Cardiff are still in a better position than us. What a waste of column inches, again!

Wright replaces Daveis quite easily, the only player worth mentioning must be Andrew, and he does`nt make a list on his own (he`s the only player on my list of quality players - though)

you should be concentrating on your own problems fella's. Dont worry about Cardiff's. Anyway, lets be honest, do you really expect to get anything from this game? Cardiff are head and shoulders above Southampton FC... i can feel another 5-0 drumming coming along!!

Cardiff are not way better than Saints we played poorly against them this season and beat them.
This article about Carfiff missing two right backs really wasn't worth the 'journalists' 'effort'...the players we are missing is the significance here, whether they are on loan, in court, down the pub, retiring or injured.
Oh dear! Anyway...we GOT to get behind the boys that are going to play and hope that they are up for it. COYR

Although this is on the wrong thread (there isn't one) I'm a little mystified.
When the today's Echo and some of the nationals have written about the two idiots from Southampton who were arrested yesterday, why is there no mention here? Also, it mentions that "two men were arrested" where are the others? Don't say our two fine young men believe in "Honour amongst thieves" and have failed to identify the others involved.

I know you are probably knocking on a bit now but Saints could really do with an old fashion battering ram type centre forward again.

Of all our remaining games I happen to feel this is the one we have the best chance of winning away. Never mind Cardiff's injury woes this week end. I'll wager they would sooner have half their team out this week than next week, for the FA Cup semi final. At this time of the season we can afford to rack up a few yellow cards among the generally "lightweight" players, such as John, Saga or BWP (if selected) so if I was NP I would send them out with the following message. "Put yourself about, push, shove, pull and kick anyone in a Cardiff shirt and remind them that if they get hurt they'll miss the semi final". Hopefully that attitude, plus the natural attitude of self protection from the Cardiff players, will see Cardiff under perform, presenting us with our best chance of a win. Having said that, we don't want just one person doing all the intimidating, because knowing our luck he'd get sent off and it would be game over.

Unfortunately George Kirby died in 2000. After watching Pericard and John toiling away on Saturday I'm certain that we could do with a player who posseses the energy and aggression that George brought to a team. I can just recall watching him as a ten year old in a cup tie at the Dell against Nottingham Forest when he terrorised the Forest keeper (I think it was Peter Grummitt). From 3-0 down and fifteen minutes to go we fought back to level at 3-3 and eventually won the tie 5-0 in a glorious replay at White Hart Lane. Some of the players at Saint Marys look like they're just going through the motions (Andrew Davies apart)

How can Cardiff or anyone have defensive problems against this Saints side. Even teams with 10 men have had no problem this season. I doubt we'll mount even one attack worth mentioning.
