Saints have today revealed their new home kit for next season.
The strip is the first manufactured by Umbro as part of the new five year agreement whereby that sees them become the official kit supplier to Saints.
The new kit will be available to buy in the stadium Megastore, WestQuay and in Sanders Sports in Newport IOW from 9am on Friday, June 13.
For all those fans who want to get their kit on the day of launch it can be pre-ordered now, for delivery only on the day of launch, at the online store or via the mail order hotline on 0845 688 9433.
I'm undecided on this shirt - I really like the current strip but I'm sure I'll get used to it.
Maybe I just don't like change...maybe I don't like the fact that Umbro/Saints have decided in their infinite wisdom that one shirt a year is acceptable. But I don't have to buy it, I'm interested to see the new training/leisurewear stuff when it comes out.
Whatever shirt the team wears, I'll be following them next season!!
UTS!!

Not too shabby quite nice hopefully it will bring with it good fortunes and a fresh start for next season!
I still think its a rip off that the club are releasing a new strip every season because although I won't buy one every year, there will be those that will and it will be a big blow to fork out however much it is every year

the shirt doesnt look too much different.
Now these are made by umbro does that mean that they will be able to be bought in other shops other than the saints shop? ie spots shops?

[/quote] THey have changed a 1mm square on the lower back, which meens its a reason for us to shell out another 40 quid.
If you owned JJB etc would you put THAT shirt in there, we was only a couple of places above Scunthorpe and I am not expecting theres in it.

That noise this morning, was it my alarm clock or was it the noise of a whole city collectively murmering "well it's 'okay' but I don't like the socks"? Given Umbro's creativity, watch as this kit style is used as the away kit for most Umbro-contracted clubs, though in different colour combinations.
Bring back the early 80s Patrick kit (Big Red Stripe, Big White Stripe, Big Red Stripe etc - you know the one) now 'that' was the ultimate Saints kit. You merely had to turn on the TV (hoping that it was one of the two Match of the Day games for that day) and know that it was Saints playing merely by glimpsing the kit, whereas this one will have us watching Sky Sports News saying "is that us, or is it Sheffield United? No wait, its Stoke".
Still, at least the new kit wasn't designed by Pony. Phew.
Hooray, Rupert's back!! He must have got bored watching the rugby.
Could someone just lynch "crew 657". His pathetic ramblings are an embarassment to both of his brain cells. It's his parents I feel most sorry for. They probably had high expectations just after his birth, but now are parents to a social leper who lives in a made up childlike world. Is there a point to his life or does he just beat one out everytime he types the word “scum” or any of its derivatives (you may want to look that word up on your online dictionary, crew 657).

Yet another story for the cretins to just slag each other off! Grow up and get a life, support your football club and stop wasting your time inciting yet MORE hatred between the clubs!

Not a big change but the sponsor logo looks like a complete after thought & just stuck on!
Could be just a prototype & quality will be better when on sale.

Saints fans have short memories. Remember those Pony kits from the 90's? For the first time since the Hummel era of the late 80's we have a decent kit supplier, don't knock it.
As for those skates, at least our kit is made by a specialist football supplier, not some obscure New Zealand outfit make stuff for egg chasers.

The kits alright, shame its only got a seasons life on it. I wish clubs that do this would think of the cost implications for fans. Time I buy my 2 kids one each and myself I'm about £100 poorer! on just shirts alone. Oh well thats another season without a shirt then!

Looks as if it has a tacky, plastic transfer on the front, reminiscent of the current Sevilla shirts with 888.com on them made by Joma.
£40 quid is far too steep for a shirt that will only last one season, however will buy one anyway, even if it is daylight robbery.
Glad to see the 'back' of the current strip as I found it poorly made and easily frayed.

What an opportunity wasted when, for example a 7 year old lad hasn't decided on a team to support, goes late night shopping in JJB and has to buy the Chelsea, Arsenal, Man U, Liverpool shirt because he can't buy a Southampton shirt - how stupid is that. Hardly encouraging the next generation of fans to support their local team is it!!!

Great £40 quid for the shirt plus the amazing amount of £12 for postage (this has probably gone up as well now). Why can't Saints allow there shirt to go on general sale as 95% of other clubs do?

If you read the Saints website they have got a deal to sell it in the club shops only because that way they make more money! Also it is part of the Umbro contract that the shirts change every year, this is inline with every other Umbro club throughout Europe!

What difference does it make if its a new strip every year? when you consider that when wearing/washing it at least once a week for 9 months it will be wearing out anyway. Kids will grow out of theirs too. Not many clothes worn regularly last longer than a year and still look great. Its more the £40 that is the problem not the changing every year.
Can you blame them charging that much when you all go and buy it regardless? If people refused to pay it they would make the kit cheaper!

I disagree Clare.
£40 is ok because, as an adult, I only wear the shirt from time-to-time and it is rarely used to actually play football. The condition therefore remains fine. For that price though I would expect it to stay 'current' for 2 years.
I can assure you, I will [bold]NOT[/bold] be buying it. This won't matter to Saints though as 75% of the potentinal market paying £40 a season is more profitable than 100% buying one for the same price every 2 years. Whether it is entirely ethical is another question.
