Is Saints' captain Claus Lundekvam's latest setback on the road to recovery one injury too far?
The-35-year-old has been at The Dell and St Mary's for over 11 years ever since his £350k move from SK Brann in September 1996.
But bearing in mind his advancing years and the fact he has now been ruled out until at least the end of the season, we want to know if the fans think Our Claus will be making a comeback or whether or not we have seen the last of him in the red and white stripes.
Is this one injury too far, or will the cultured defender defy the odds and be lining up as part of Pearson's squad in August?
So as you may have guessed, this week's question is:
Have we seen the last of Claus?

Time to give it up,
The best thing for all concerned would be for 'loyal' Claus to retire, take the insurance payout and free up much needed money for a couple of loanees to enhance Nigel Pearson's squad.
Or, he could continue to chase the dream of playing again (highly unlikely) and of course seeing out his contract.
Just guessing but he must be on £10K + per week? (as the last of the old players with the reduced Premiership contract)
How many loanees could we get in for that?
If he wants to try to come back, follow Michael Svenssons lead - use the facilities with a playing opportunity if you recover.

At this stage of the game, Clause must put himself first. To risk pemanant disabilty would be foolish. Clause has been a very good servant to the Club and I wish him well, whatever happens.[bold]bold[/bold]

couldnt agree more with forest saint; theres no point holding on to somebody that will probably never play for us again. we now have enough centre backs with ian pearce so y not use his 10k or w.e and get a expereinced right bak in and probably another striker. as marek saganowski doesnt seem to have any goals in him atm.

Check out our goal scoring charts lately - going with Bradley and Marek up front right now would mean no goals at all! Rasiak is lazy too but bl**dy hell do we miss him

Shame on you so called saints fans bad mouthing Claus, he has been a great servant to the club, but i agree his future is no longer as a player, injury and age has made it time to call it a day.
If more of the todays players had the comitment you have shown Claus maybe we would not be in the situation we are in (although things may be turning, thanks Pearson).
Claus best wishes what ever you decide from someone how has enjoyed watching you play most of your career at Soutampton.Go saints

However the real truth of our situation is we CANNOT have another long term injury case drawing salary for contributing nothing.
It was a luxury we could afford whilst in the Premiership but no more.
[bold]Don't forget Brian that Claus was an integral part of our team in the relegation season......[/bold]
