Conditions for football were perfect.

The game started tentatively with both sides finding it difficult to make the last third and get into goal scoring positions.

The breakthrough for S&D came after Hythe failed to clear, something we must continue to work on.

This setback spurred Strikers into life, quickly overhauling the deficit to take a worthy 2-1 lead.

Conceding the lead was once again due to Strikers inability to clear the danger, resulting in a penalty that Connor was unlucky not to turn around the post after brilliantly getting a hand to it.

Overall the performance of everyone was miles ahead of our Hampshire Cup outing the week before.

Charley was at the centre of all good things defensive, ably supported by Jack who mopped up what got away up.

Jordan had an outstanding game at left midfield, constantly harassing S&D’s right back.

Mani and Callum Bigg stuck to the game plan providing much needed presence through the centre of midfield.

As a team our shape and movement was much more organised and controlled, only the very late goal undoing all the hard work to grind out a result.

Strikers Man of the Match (MoM): Tom – Pushed to the wire by Jordan for this week’s award and probably shaded his 2 goal haul. All things considered he did contribute massively, providing a tigerish presence in the space ahead of their central defenders and behind the central midfield.

This enabled the whole team to benefit from S&D being harried out of the ball. Add to this his endeavours to fashion a hat trick this one is well earnt.
