Did murdered Georgina know her killer?
MURDERED pensioner Georgina Edmonds may well have known her killer, the Daily Echo can reveal today.
Detectives leading the hunt for whoever battered the 77-year-old to death say they are considering the possibility that she knew the person and was happy to let them in.
One week on and with no suspects in custody, senior officers have said it is a key theory still being examined in their bid to find whoever bludgeoned the grandmother to death using a blunt weapon.
Yesterday more than 1,200 drivers, joggers, dog walkers and visitors to a nearby garden centre were stopped and spoken to by police hunt for a vital clue.
Detectives are also still working to try and identify two mystery men, possibly preaching religion, who one witness claims were in the area 24 hours before the death of Mrs Edmonds last Friday.
Neighbour Alan Webb, 50, a financial adviser, is understood to have told police how the pair arrived at his door "asking religious style questions" but he found it strange they were not carrying Bibles.
| Can you help find Georgina's killer? | | Anyone with information should call the Operation Columbian team at Hulse Road on 0845 045 4545 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. |

Claims that another mystery man was also seen standing suspiciously outside Brambridge Park Garden Centre in Kiln Lane are also being investigated by officers working out of the major incident room at Hulse Road, Southampton.
Officers last night stopped customers and people passing by Tesco Express in Twyford Road, Eastleigh, where Mrs Edmonds cashcard had been used by an unknown man.
Detectives and uniformed police spent hours handing out pictures of a man dressed in a bright yellow fluorescent coat and light blue jeans who was caught on CCTV cameras using the card at the outside cashpoint.
The man used the machine and walked in the direction of Albert Road at around 10.40pm on Friday, January 11.

"the pair arrived at his door "asking religious style questions" but he found it strange they were not carrying Bibles."
Not all religions rely upon the Bible.
Let's hope Alan knows a little bit more about finance - being a financial adviser and all.
