FIREFIGHTERS took more than five hours to put out a barn fire in Dartford.
The Dutch barn in Meadowcroft Farm, in Green Street, which contained 50 tons of hay for animal feed and straw, caught fire because of an electrical fault.
It took 20 firefighters to put out the blaze which completely destroyed the barn and damaged a lorry trailer nearby.
A spokesman for Kent Fire Brigade said: “Firefighters were called out at 1.58pm on May 6 to deal with the fire in the barn. We finally got the fire under control by 7.30pm.”
The spokesman added: “The fire was accidental and nobody was hurt.”
