BUS passengers are being urged to have their say about services in Hertfordshire, following the release of two transport strategy documents by the county council.
Feedback will be used to help determine the future of services and to initiate a forum for passenger transport users.
Hertfordshire's Bus Strategy sets out the council's vision for development of the county's bus network, with emphasis on how to cope with traffic congestion, reliability and public image.
The Intalink Strategy sets out plans for progress by a partnership forged between local authorities and bus and train operators.
Set up in 1999, Intalink aims to provide a comprehensive and co-ordinated programme of information and marketing to passenger transport users.
Councillor Iris Tarry, executive member for the environment, said: "These are both crucial documents which show how the county council proposes to work with the service operators to ensure a high quality of service to users.
"As well as urging local people to give us their views individually through the consultation, we will also be looking to set up a forum for passenger transport users, so that we can involve them in determining the future shape of the service."
The public consultation runs until February 15, 2002, and a summary of the documents is available from Intalink travel information outlets.
Alternatively, the full documents can be inspected in council offices, libraries or on the internet at the website www.hertsdirect.org/busstrategy.
