Furzehill to live on in cyberspace

1:28pm Wednesday 25th July 2001

Furzehill School may have closed its gates for the last time, but its name will live on in cyberspace, where it has a new website.

Ian Tresman, a pupil at the school between 1965 and 1974, decided to put together a school website after attending a reunion two weeks ago.

He said he had been talking to his former headteacher, John Holland, about his career as a website publisher, who suggested that he set up a school website.

"I've got the means and resources to set up a website, and I just thought it would be a great idea.

"At the moment I think about half a dozen people have visited it, but I think in time more and more people will visit, and leave their contact details. The Borehamwood & Elstree Times has to take some of the credit as well, I found out about the reunion in the paper," he said.

The site features photographs of the school and former-teachers, along with a list of former pupils with e-mail addresses. Mr Tresman hopes it will help pupils to keep in touch. To access the new website, visit www.furzehill-school.co.uk.
