Public consultation on housing development in Hertfordshire looks set to be delayed, the county council has announced.
Hertfordshire County Council has said plans for consultation are likely to be put off until district councils have commented on the findings of a study on housing capacity. The district councils want to comment on the study before the public is involved.
The housing study marks the start of the review of the Structure Plan, the planning blueprint to guide future developments in the county, and will help the council to decide how to meet the Government target of 49,200 new homes by 2016.
