Great fun to see all of our politicians - and not a few commentators in the media - cock-a-hoop at the fall of Barclay's Bob Diamond.
On then to the public enquiry and the next banking big-wig we can topple.
Serves them right.
Let's keep going until we have destroyed as much of The City as we can.
Quite how we replace 15 per cent of our GDP, tens of thousands of jobs, the tax income they provide, and the services - NHS, education, defence, roads, transport, social services, etc - I cannot say.
But hoorah! - and bring the next to the guillotine.

Meanwhile, we have a manufacturing industry that still employs more than the entire financial services sector and contributes more in tax, but you wouldn't know it from the government's policy priorities would you?

Never mind the value destruction of the last 5 years they are still enjoying their Bollinger. Never mind that they pay no taxes neither do they lend money to real businesses that need it to grow!
I have rarely read worse rubbish.

They should never have repealed the Glass Steagall Act. The banks still resist regulation. Politicians were complicit in siding with them.
Unfortunately you cannot do the usual trick of concealing it all because it involves US, Japan, Europe and others.
Banks have brought so many countries to their knees with their irresponsible lending.
They make the Great Train Robbers look like saints with their Del Boy banking.

It's people like Mr Dimond who have contributed to the failure of trust in the City. Does Mr Murray believe we should just ignore wrongdoing? If it's some poor inadequate at the bottom of the heap caught defrauding welfare of a few thousands, come down hard , but let's just overlook it if it's at the other end of the wealth scale involving millions or even billions - after all, most of the masses won't even understand how they've been cheated.
