Should have known the BBC couldn't keep it up.

After a magnificent Games for the broadcaster, they have now been ordered from on high to stop being so patriotic.

A memo from the Director General no less, Mark Thompson, has demanded news broadcasters stop putting British successes first and focus of foreign athletes.

I understand the reaction from journalists on the ground has been disbelief. Good for them.

We know now then where the push to attack Britain and undermine us has come from. Good job he is on his way out.

Come on Beeb. Keep the flag flying and ignore your vastly overpaid bosses.
