YOU don't need to hit the main stage to get a flavour of the music on offer at the festival. There are impromptu concerts happening all over the place.
We're sat on a bale of hay chillling out in the Hive where a youth group are performing a great number on their ukeleles.
It's all about the kids today with a children's choir joining 60s songstress Melanie on stage where the American singer songwriter recreated much of her set from the iconic 1970 festival featuring Jimi Hendrix.
Isle of Wight teenagers The Bluebyrds also opened today's festivities on the main stage after winning a battle of the bands style competition to bag the honour of playing on the same stage as Paul McCartney, Jay-Z and Pink.
Guitar and vocalist Keir Hicks, Chris Williams on guitar, drummer Max Harrison and Devon Badman on bass were given a warm Isle of Wight welcome by a large crowd basking in the sunshine.
