CAN one imagine what it would be like to be skinned alive? This is what often happens to baby harp seals, born on the Canadian ice floes every spring.
It is the most barbaric massacre in the world, and Britain imports 31 per cent of seal products (skins in other words).
The hunt is merciless and must be stopped, as it was in 1987 through putting pressure on the Canadian Government, by boycotting their fish products, and by writing a letter of protest, about the horror of this terrible hunt to: Ian McCartney MP, Minister For Trade, Foreign and Commonwealth Office, King Charles Street, London SW1 2HA He has the power to help put a stop to it!
Public opinion does help and many countries have already banned the importation of harp seal products Britain could too.
M MILLAR, Southampton.
