THE NEWS that certain circus proprietors are to challenge the Government in the courts over its intention to ban big cats and elephants from circuses from 2015 is alarming to all those who have campaigned for many years for an end to using wild animals in circuses.
May we urge those sympathetic to this cause to write (possibly again?) to the DEFRA Minister, Animal Circuses, 9 Millbank Tower, SW1, so that it can prove the great support the Government has to ban captive wild species from circuses.
