MP Alan Whitehead asks why is it that all the major energy companies are to put up prices?

Could it be in response to Ed Miliband claiming he would freeze energy bills for 20 months, if he became Prime Minster in 2015?

We have seen in Grangemouth that bullying by the trade unions got them nowhere as the owners simply said they would shut down the facility.

Labour are left wing, unionled and basically communists wanting state control paid for by the taxpayer.

Private business or, if you prefer, capitalism, is supported by shareholders who risk their money, and in doing so provide employment.

They are also taxed on any returns.

I have a lot of time for Alan Whitehead, as he does believe in green alternatives.

I get the impression, however, that he is at times at odds with his own party when it comes to environmental and conservation issues.

He would be better off as a Liberal Democrat, as would many Green Party supporters.

RICHARD GRANT, Burley.
