ABP hold the answers

Daily Echo: ABP hold the answers ABP hold the answers

With reference to gridlock on the city streets, the answer may be in the hands of ABP (who seem to gain financially from the cruise industry).

When there are cruise ships at the City and Mayflower terminals, all passengers are sent into the city centre to board either via the gate at Southern Road or at the other end the Western Docks by the Holiday Inn. If there are also cruise ships at the Eastern Docks (dock gate 4) then all the passengers are heading the same way!

Why doesn’t ABP allow the cruise passengers for the Western Docks to enter/leave the port via First Avenue at Millbrook (which is only a short hop from the bottom of the M27) and then the congestion will be in the docks area for those cruise ships.

you mean dock gate 20 & Jeremy Moulton was in talks with both ABP & the cruise lines to get the passengers to do exactly what you've posted but I don't know if Labour continued with the talks!

Like you I recognise the commercial benefits that the port brings to this area and attempt to promote the positives in relation to the challenges that this activity brings
However you are beginning to sound like Southy by often trying to score political points with myopic views

phil as soon as I get a buyer for my house I'm off . So when I post about the port it's from a sense of pride in my city & it's history.
If it wasn't for the ships ( Russian Convoy) that sail from this city my dad would have never come here from Liverpool so my mum wouldn't have met him & my family would have never existed.
look I said about Moultons talks with ABP & the cruise companies as when it comes to the future of jobs & this city the Tories have shown they'll put party politics to one side as they did with the Refuse grant.
so I wanted to if Labour had continued with Moultons work & if not why not & why njot ask him how far he had gotten to a solution about traffic & keeping the cruise ship passengers in Port & maybe coming here in stages before they catch the ships.
I don't know how that makes me like Southy?
Phil I'm being attacked all the time now by Linesman over my support for ABP's plans for Dibden & Marchwood Military Port if I didn't care I'd not try to get the left winger to understand the importance for this cities future of these expansion plans for the docks so please tell me why you think I'm going wrong?
we usually agree & get on so please let me know why you think I'm sounding like Southy?
