MAY I say how pleased I was to see the recent article about chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) in your paper.
It is true this is the silent disease and often goes undetected.It is only through the work of our research team that we are kept up to date on this escalating problem.
I belong to a support group in Hedge End and our members have much to be thankful to this team for.
Many people are not aware they have it and assume it is just a seasonal chest infection. It is only by the machines in question and qualified people who can recognize the difference between chest infections and COPD that many are with us today.
I cannot praise highly enough the work that this team carry out and consider we are very fortunate here to have them in our local hospital .
