I TOTALLY agree with your recent correspondent regarding litterbugs and would also like to bring to your notice the equipment left behind on our streets by road workers.
This equipment is left for pedestrians and motorists to kick around or run over and is very dangerous.
I have seen certain equipment left on the side of the road for weeks on end until it ends up so damaged that is of no use to anyone.
How can these road workers afford to lose this valuable equipment which could be used on other jobs? What a waste!
These workers should be made to clear up their equipment after the job is finished.
This is another example of litter in our very untidy city.
I have lived In Southampton all my life and have never seen the city in such a dirty state.
Come on, councillors, do something about it.
You waste money on other things, think about doing something positive.
IRIS MINARD, Southampton.
