WITH reference to your letters recently regarding smoking, I would like to tell all these anti-smokers to butt out and stop trying to control us.

I smoke because I enjoy smoking, I don’t drink, take drugs or chew gum, so instead of moaning about people who smoke, I suggest you target the people who throw their chewing gum on the pavement and the people who throw bottles on pavements and roads, and what about the dog mess?

Just putting up signs saying these people will be fined if caught is a joke.

What are you going to do, drive round everywhere handing out fines (I don’t think so) and as for drugs, go to the parks and pick up the syringes?

It was only last week my daughter and I took my four-year-old grandson to the New Park at the back of Primark, Southampton and found two young boys smoking weed in the enclosure at the climbing frame.

And as for the no smoking in our own car, its common sense not to smoke if you have a child in there.

But to be told I cannot smoke in my own car is another thing.

Do you pay my road tax and insurance and did you buy my car?

No, so butt out!

VERY ANGRY SMOKER, (Name & address supplied)
