APPARENTLY all is not completely lost for MPs who misbehave and lose the support of their parties.
They can, of course, resign, but then they do not qualify for any redundancy money or payments.
Or they can choose to remain as a candidate and fight for re-election at the next general election.
Then, and here is the good news for the misbehaving MP, if they do stand for election but do not get elected they then do qualify for payment – six months’ salary, of which the first £30,000 is tax-free.
