WHEN is a pothole not a pothole?
Apparently when it is in Coxford Road, one of the main routes to the area’s biggest hospital and Southampton’s largest cemetery.
The non-specific holes are deemed not deep enough.
Might one ask what technical, empirical formula is applied to determine the qualification of a pothole’s suitability for attention?
Is a scientific instrument such as an engineer’s depth gauge applied, or is it laser scanned?
Methinks it is more likely the size of the repair budget drastically reduced by central government cuts, than the size of the holes which is more pertinent. To the residents and users of Coxford Road, a pothole is still a pothole and a nuisance and the matter should be addressed.
In any event, certainly a convenient photo opportunity by the surreptitious Coxford renegades, Messrs. Morrell and Thomas.
