AS a supermarket cashier I find Duncan White’s letter (August 21) to be insulting.

I was shown the simple method to open plastic bags without any need to dampen fingers in any way, though I have seen customers resort to this (I suppose that’s alright being their own germs).

What is even more revolting is the way in which some customers place credit cards, debit cards and loyalty cards into their mouths and also dirty bank notes and occasionally small coins and then pass them to the cashier for processing.

Think where they have been.
