I’M writing after reading about 81-year-old Barbara Dollery and her cat rescues (Daily Echo, September 6).
I was very fortunate a few years ago to meet Barbara when I was looking to give a cat a home, having been turned down by two local rescue centres because I didn’t, and couldn’t, have a cat flap.
Having been told about Barbara, I contacted her and after she came and “inspected” our home she agreed to let us have a cat.
We have a happy, well cared for and much loved pet thanks to this remarkable lady.
Long may she continue to do her good work, with a more open heart than some other organisations!
