I’D like to say thank you to the two men who helped us push our car off the road on Friday night after it ran out of petrol.
It happened in the worst possible place – on the main Bevois Valley Road junction, near The Hobbit – but one man got out of his car to help, while a passing jogger also helped my sister-in-law and I push our car off the road and out of the way of traffic.
Sadly I didn’t get a chance to properly thank either of you or ask your names, so I hope you’re reading this. It’s always nice to be reminded that there are still good people out there. (And also to make sure your car’s got enough petrol!).
ALEXANDER HAY, Southampton.
