Yes, I have seen pigs while flying!
IN response to Mr Mark Hayward’s rhetorical question ‘When flying, did I ever observe pigs?’ (Letters, September 12) – yes!
I was on a flight from Gatwick to Alicante, Spain, when it was observed that a number of them had boarded the flight and during the flight brandished lager cans and disrupted the flight to the annoyance of many considerate passengers. I am not telling you a porker!
The object of my letter was purely to give food for thought that it was one of the endless possibilities for locating a new airport away from a busy metropolis like Heathrow and Gatwick.
Although many of us are blessed with the wonderful New Forest on our doorstep, it consists of a very vast area with wildlife in abundance and is Crown land and the area I outlined at Stoney Cross would be a drop in the ocean!
It however is good to see that you too have stated your comment and I look forward to other readers’ comments with interest.
I hope that I have got you thinking! That old grey matter goes to waste, use it or lose it!
