I REFER to your article “The missing link,” Daily Echo, November 22.
I am sure that there will be a great interest regarding the discussions as to the best method to link the mainland to the Isle of White.
However, reading your article I was disappointed that the article did not mention the proposal to provide a link via a deep sea port constructed on the sand bank off Calshot described in detail in a Daily Echo article last year.
The proposed project would expand the port, reduce traffic congestion in Southampton and provide the link to the Island via a bridge from the new port incorporating turbines driven by the substantial rip tides in that area.
