THIS is being typed for me by a friend. I was recently waiting for a bus in Totton. I wear glasses with a huge bowl to my left lens (it’s nearly at optical limits), I carry a white stick.
Some ladies standing near me were discussing my eyewear. They should have spoken quietly – I am not deaf and could hear their comments.
My very strong glasses were the subject of discussion. Luckily my bus arrived and I got on.
I would like these ladies and other listeners (in the bus queue) to know that the glasses with the very large bowl make the most of the little sight I have left.
I have no sight in my right eye at all. My glasses cannot have new lenses any more – I will then be blind.
At the moment, with help from family and friends I manage everyday tasks. I cannot read or watch TV.
Does anyone else out there have glasses with big bowls?
LOUISE THOMPSON, Totton.
