IT IS really very sad that Ms Thompson from Totton experienced the insensitivity of fellow passengers while waiting for her bus.
Experience suggests that this sort of behaviour is through ignorance rather than malice.
Such comments about appearance are hurtful and can make people who need to wear thick lenses, use white canes or other mobility aids, reluctant to leave home.
It is even sadder that she feels she can no longer enjoy reading or TV, there are ways round this.
Can I highly recommend that anyone experiencing sight loss, struggling to cope with low vision or supporting someone with a visual impairment, attends a Living With Sight Loss or Finding Your Feet Course.
Feedback confirms that these can really make a difference.
