I WOULD like to wish all Daily Echo readers a very happy and blessed Christmas with enough food to feed us all over the festive period and to enjoy the company of dear family and friends.

Everybody is so busy shopping and preparing the house for visitors and Father Christmas, who I am sure will come calling on Christmas Eve to overexcited children finding it hard to get to sleep.

Don’t let us forget the true meaning of December 25 each year, the birth of Christ Jesus 2,000 years ago; that’s why it is called Christmas.

Too many of our true morals are being lost as this country becomes less Christian.

We want to welcome the many oppressed people of Eastern Europe and beyond but we must not have our Christian faith trampled upon.

Fewer nativity plays in schools are being played and carols are not being sung anymore because children do not know them.

Thank God for the many individual carol concerts being put on by church groups and organisations.
