The Labour controlled city council do not want to close Cobbett Road Library.
Commonsense states they could well do without the massive hassle they are getting over this issue, in an election year.
The money is not there to continue the current arrangements and this is down to central Government. However that may be (and I fully accept others’ opinions might differ from mine), council-bashing or seeking to apportion blame, will not save our libraries.
We seriously need to focus our efforts to build on the constructive efforts already made, to find alternative ways to manage Cobbett Road and Weston libraries in the future, and thereby keep them open for our communities.
We don’t have much time!
